Account data: username, email address, full name, country, region, hardiness zone, and profile photo if uploaded.
Content you create: journal entries, planting logs, livestock records, harvest data, recipes, seed listings, marketplace listings, and forum posts.
Payment data: processed by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID — we never see or store card numbers.
Usage data: pages visited, session information, IP address, browser type. Used for security and performance only — not sold or shared with advertisers.
Communications: emails you send to us and notification preferences.
We use your data to: provide and improve the Service; process subscription payments; send transactional emails (account, swap requests, notifications); send optional marketing emails you can opt out of at any time; comply with legal obligations; and protect against fraud and abuse.
We process your data on the basis of: contract (to provide the Service you signed up for); legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement); and consent (marketing emails — withdrawable at any time).

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time, which removes your personal data within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate data may be retained indefinitely.
You have the right to: access your data; correct inaccurate data; delete your data ("right to be forgotten"); restrict processing; data portability; and object to processing. Exercise these rights by emailing hello@continentalalmanac.eu. You may also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
We use strictly necessary cookies only: a session cookie for authentication and a locale preference cookie. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Analytics, if enabled, uses privacy-preserving first-party analytics (Plausible) that does not use cookies.
Your data is stored on servers in [your hosting region]. As an Australian-operated service, transfers outside the EU/EEA are made under appropriate safeguards including standard contractual clauses where required.
The Service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
